Globe Telecom Unli-Surf Bug - A Marketing Strategy?
It’s been months since Globe subscribers discovered a “bug” in their Globe SIM cards that allows them to register to a month’s worth of unlimited mobile surfing - practically limited though, as the 800 MB limit is still imposed. Through a series of registration codes (the legitimate ones) that serves as a code that when successfully decoded registers you into the system, many subscribers enjoyed Globe one month Unlisurf for free! That saved them a Php 999.00 worth of cellphone load.
Personally, I would not think that the “bug” is not a secret to Globe Telecom itself. Why would the mobile company allow itself to lose thousands or maybe millions of pesos through illegitimate registration to their promos?
Well, to gain more subscribers!
I do not really know if they profit from the bug, but as they continue to allow it, it seems they really are!
Now, I will teach you how to dougie.. errrr, to register in the free Globe Unlisurf.
First, you must be a Globe subscriber having a Globe SIM. (I’m sorry TM users, you are not eligible here.)
1. Dial *143*3*3*3*2*3*1# and save it to your phone book as AAA, so it appears right on top of your contacts list.
2. Now, get your hands (and stopwatches or clocks) ready! Go to messaging and type UNLIALLTRIO1400. Send it to 8888.
3. While it is still sending, quickly navigate to your contacts and call AAA. A prompt will then appear telling you that you will receive a confirmation shortly.
4. You will be receiving 2 confirmation messages, rather, unconfirmation. Because the message should tell you that your request could not be processed. That’s all right.
5. A minute after you sent the message, type UNLIALLTRIO1400 again and send it to 8888. Then dial AAA quickly. Repeat the procedure 3 times, with always a one minute interval.
6. After all messages had come, text GOPLAY STATUS and send it to 8888. That will then determine if you are registered or not. If unsuccessful, you may try again. However, if you have reached the maximum tries (when 8888 does not send any message anymore) you may opt to try the next day.
So that’s it!
I myself is currently subscribed to the bug and to be expired on 18th of March. Go try it yourself!
